Hello world!

Ellie, a schnauzer/jack russell terrier mix puppy

Hi:  Let me introduce myself.  I’m Ellie. I was born around the third of December 2011.  After a few months, my original family apparently did not need me so I found myself lost and wandering around on the streets of a large city. Then, finally something good happened to me.  I was picked up by the city’s animal control department and taken to the Humane Society’s animal shelter.  There, they fed me, gave me a bath, and trimmed my fur.  After that I was checked over by the vet, given my vaccinations, and placed in a clean kennel with two other dogs.  I was told I had to live there until someone would come by and adopt me.  I waited there for several days before a family came by and asked to see me in the visiting room.  So the staff came to the kennel, picked me up, and carried me to the visitor’s room where I met this family.  At first, I wasn’t too sure about them. After all, the last time I trusted someone, I ended up on the street.  So I took my time checking them out while they sat on the benches in the room.  I sniffed them; they passed the smell test. Then I listened to them talk.  It seems they had a dog like me that came from here that they really loved.  She lived to be sixteen years before she passed away.  Sixteen years – gosh that’s like a whole bunch of dog years old.  I figure they must have taken good care of her.  So I told the animal shelter that they appeared to be a good family; so, it was ok for them to adopt me.

The next day they came and completed the paperwork, and before I knew it I was off to my new home where I now reside.  By the way, there are other wonderful dogs at the Humane Society Shelter located in your area just waiting to be adopted and given a good home.  Dogs from the shelter make great additions to your family, and great companions.  We are just thrilled to have a second chance to live in a good, safe home and we will show you our appreciation by showering you with our love, loyalty, and affection.
