Buddy is another good friend that I play with every day at the Pawm Springs dog park. He is a Poodle/Bichon mix. Talk about energy: this guy has an unlimited supply. Nothing slows him down when he is playing at the park—not even the summer heat. He is all fun on the run. They also call him “Muddy Buddy” and from the looks of it, you can tell why. If there is water and mud in the park, he will lay in it. I guess that’s how he stays cool.
Luna is another Poodle/Bichon mix, but she’s still a puppy at five months old. This was her first visit to the dog park so she was a little apprehensive at first. After checking out the other dogs and sniffing some others, she began playing with Buddy.
Both Buddy and Luna are the same mixed breed (i.e. Poodle/Bichon) but with different colors and different coats of fur. Buddy has a Bichon coat of fur while Luna has a longer and softer coat. I would have never guessed that these two are the same type of mixed breed. I suppose it’s true what Forrest Gump said, “Ma’ma always said life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are going to get*.” The same holds true for us dogs but that’s what keeps life interesting. Have fun—play hard. See ya’ at the park.

This is Petri, a Chinese Crested/Papillon mix. When people see a Chinese Crested, they think it has mange, but it is actually hairless. Petri, like other Chinese Cresteds, is outgoing, energetic and spright. They make wonderful companions for children and seniors.
This is a new friend I met at the park. His name is Dexter and he is a four year old whatever. His family met him at the Humane Society shelter when he was eight weeks old. His breed is unknown at this time. Whatever his breed is, we know by just being around him that he is very smart and full of energy.
After watching me catch the frisbee, he figured out real quick that if you go retrieve it and bring it back to a family member it will get thrown again. His family is very curious as to his breed mixture so they are sending a sample of his DNA for testing. The family thinks he might be part Border Collie and a mixture of something else. What do you think?
There are a lot of great dogs like Dexter at your local dog shelter. Check ‘em out. They need a home. Just like me, they’ll become someone’s best friend.
